Dealing With Middle School Homework: How To Tackle Stress

Stress is a very real problem for every single living person today. There’s stress in basically every situation we encounter, whether it be personal or professional; the stress is always lurking. There are also varying degrees of it and different ways to manage and handle it.

For students in middle school, professional stress presents itself in the form of homework and projects. All of them from school. Deadlines, overly assignment- happy teachers and terrible project mates are all contributing factors, but a little organization and straightforwardness will go a long way.

What to do when your project teammates aren’t pulling their weight:

Talk to your partner, friend, frienemy. Chances are they think that you are some sort of perfectionist who will probably take whatever they do and redo it just for the sake of it. If not, it’s probably just some miscommunication. Talk it out and feel the relaxation come over you as your plate clears up a little.

What to do when you have too much homework and you just can’t even…:

Remember that time it seemed all your teachers just got together in their lounge and tried to figure out a way to get every student in their classes to want to die? Yeah, the way they picked was to each assign an extensive amount of research or essay writing with near-impossible deadlines. Key Word: NEAR. You can do it. Don’t procrastinate. We know you really, really don’t want to do it all. But if you start to do it little by little, completing the smallest tasks first, you will feel the accomplishment and be really motivated to continue. Before you know it, you’ll be done and free to do what you actually do want to do.

What to do when the stress just becomes too much:

When you are just too stressed out, consider taking a break. Go for a walk, read a book you like, play your video games for a little while. Do anything you need to do to distract yourself from the impending doom of homework land.

Even when it comes to working, it is imperative that you take a break. It helps you work for a goal and then after you’ve taken the break, it will help you take a different approach or look at the whole problem you need to tackle with a clear mind. Breaks help you focus, take them.
